Further to announcements regarding the imminent launch of Samsung’s first 3D TV in March (the 40C7000), Samsung have also announced it’s 3D-ready Blu Ray player, the BD-C6900.
Not much information available at present. Expect it to retail at around $399, so around £270-£300? More details as we get them.

3D TV is finally here. The first model to launch is the SAMSUNG 40C7000. To counteract the inevitable lack of “real” 3D material at this stage, the 40C7000 has a clever “2D-3D” processing engine that will upgrade standard images to 3D. Clearly, you can’t expect this upscaling to be as good as properly mastered 3D material, but at least it’s something until 3D Blu Ray’s and Sky’s 3D channel launch in the coming months. Confirmation has arrived that Samsung’s range of 3D LED televisions, as shown at the CES show in las Vegas, will hit UK stores from March 2010. The LED 8 Series, LED 7 Series, the LCD 7 Series TVs and the BD-C6900 Blu-ray player will lead the charge in March, with the LED 9, the Plasma 7 Series and the HT-C6930W Home Theatre System following in late spring. Samsung have included an auto-conversion with it’s 3D TV’s that renders 2D content into 3D in real time.

Panasonic’s won the award for “best product of CES 2010″ with it’s 3D TV offering, the TC-PVT25. Due for launch earlier than any of its competitors, with an expected street date of “Spring 2010″, it is anticipated that the TC-PVT25 will be no more expensive than Panasonic’s current high end models, so I suppose that is good news. Also, it has been confirmed that the Panasonic will ship with at least one pair of 3D glasses, which is something no other manufacturer has yet commited to. Brief specs of this …
