The Samsung UE40C700 3D TV is now available to buy. The best price that I can find currently is for a complete 3D Bundle at John Lewis – get the 40″ 3D TV, Samsung BD-C6900 3D Blu Ray player and 2 pairs of active shutter 3D glasses for £2,148! Thats a saving of £149 on their individual selling prices.

Sony Unveils Scheduled World Cup Matches to be Filmed and Broadcast in 3D

Earlier today the world football governing body FIFA unveil their plans to screen world cup football matches (including the world cup final itself) in 3D.
The press conference covered the following items::

A Schedule of the 25 games in 3D announced
Sony to release the official 3D FIFA World Cup™ film on Blu-ray Disc in 2010
Sony to produce and show 25 exclusive promotional trailers for the official 3D Film featuring images of the FIFA World Cup in 4,000 retail stores globally

LG To Launch Passive 3DTV in the UK by May

Korean electronics firm LG has announced its decision to launch its first passive technology-based 3D-ready television set in the UK by May this year.
Korean Electronics Firm LG have announced that they plan to release the first 3D TV set with passive glasses in the UK by May. This is opposed to the launch of their range of Televisions with Active Shutter Glasses and will greatly help to reduce the price and therefore barrier to entry of 3D viewing devices.
